I had posted this on another thread, but people kept saying that it would be a good idea to put a thread on under this section. So my question is, can I legally pull for a profit at 17 yrs old if I am driving a truck that is under 10k gvw, and a trailer that keeps me under 26k gcvw? With those two factors, I don't need a CDL so i don't see any problems but definitely want to stay legal.

First things first, you better check for insurance. I think you will not be able to get the commercial insurance that you need. If you can find it the cost will be so high that there will be no profit for all your work after paying all the bills.

Some drivers do it on the cheap to get started using a pickup truck and an old used horse trailer.
One driver said he hauls furniture for some warehouse. One said he hauls motorcycles. Another said he hauls bicycles for bicycle racing events.

You can't drive commercially under the age of 18. The vehicle size doesn't matter.

I think you have to be 18 to drive in your state commercially, and 21 to drive interstate. Many companies will not hire anybody under 23 I have noticed. If it is a under 26k hotshot deal you are trying to start up then I assume the insurance will be the tough part.
