@Lepton1 I believe you've went to that military base in Bridgeport. How is 395 through that area?

Ill be coming from Vegas to load so me not running this area of the country, Im feeling kind of lost.

Anyone run it regularly or know how the roads are? Desolate, Mountainous?

It's really steep in some parts. Road surface is decent. No big fuel chains. The bit above Bishop is really steep. 8000 foot summit.

Coming from Vegas if you're going to Bridgeport, take US95 to US6 then 395.

Let's put it this way, 99/100 guys going to Reno that way, just in the 80K gross realm, will take 395 to 6 to 95 over to Fallon. Then US 50 back to 80.

    It's that steep through there.

so from bishop to Bridgeport is pretty steep? So don’t even try to take 120 across?

Take the 95 to 6 to 395. When you're cutting over on 6 you'll see why you'd not want to mess with the 120.

I think that's a trucks not advised route. But not totally restricted.

Those are the Sierra Nevada's. Not quite as tall as the Rockies, but some of the steepest grades.
