Ok. At the end of 2nd week, on Friday we watch Smith Systems video and then drove a truck to shows and real life how to apply it. Most of you company drivers probably know this going, a lot of talking while driving. I finished it early and went home for the weekend. I live in Orlando,Fl. 2.5 h driving.

3th week I was assigning to my road trainer. Great guy, knows a lot about this bussines. It's making good living for himself ($125 000 plus last year) and he's been car hauling for 4 years.
This week is been really busy. We went on Monday to rescue a load that a driver left at Hyundai manufacturing facility in Montgomery,Al. The poor guy step on a pot hole in the middle of the yard when he was picking up a car and injured his ankle, So we drive a company car from Jacksonville,Fl to Montgomery, slept at a hotel there and Tuesday morning we went to the yard loaded one more car, secure the whole load and I drove it to Jacksonville yard. Wednesday and Thursday were really busy too. What I like about the training is that we have different loads everyday. 9 car loads (Montgomery rescue) 6 cars load (4 F-150 and 2 Ford Escape) then 5 cars load 4 Ford Expedition and 1 Escape in Wednesday. In Thursday we went to JaxPort to get our port badges, and then delivered the 5 car load to Enterprise Rental cars in Jax Airport, piece of cake. We went to JaxPort after lunch and picked up 6 Infiniti QX80, nice piece of beast. It was raining, light rain, but enough to wet the loading ramp and the whole trailer, it was hard, my trainer make me loaded all of them but the one in the belly, man it was so wet, and the car it was spinning, those SUV are wide so you getting really close to the frame of the trailer when you try to load it in. So the trainer drove it in. Other than that, everything was good. We took this load to Enterprise too. On Friday there wasn't much to do.We spent the day checking car at the rail yard for damage. It was raining, cold, so they sent me home early. Resuming it was productive and busy week. I definitely learned something, every load is different. As I said to someone in my class car haulers are the mathematicians of truck industry. Ok. 'till next week, I hope that I cover almost everything so far of my training, if someone has any questions, I'm here.

Well, without any experience, like me, it could take until 3 hours, cause you have to looking for the car inside a huge lot, then inspect it, get it on the trailer and strap it.Plus you have to set the ramps and platforms up & down. Balance the weight and height. Man is really time consuming. But 9 cars load it could be done in less than 1.5h for someone with experience, that's what I've been told.

Oh yes I can understand that. I am sure you will get a lot faster at it as time goes on and get into your own little groove.

The home time and schedule of carhaul are hard to beat for trucking. Hopefully you will be making near what your trainer does eventually. Hansen is a great company to work with and for. It isn’t perfect but what job is? I hope you like carhaul and Hansen as much as I do. Been here going on 5 years and I have no plans to take my rig anyplace else. Good luck with your new career.

Depends on the load and where the cars are located and your experience. Some people can do it in 2 hrs or less and some take upwards of 5 hrs(usually inexperienced). Normal loading time though is about 2-3hrs if everything is in the right spot.
