Yeah, you're a brave person. I believe that was during the White-Volvo-GMC years, and I think Western Star used that cab too. Good luck.

I see this was moved to the Volvo thread. Another example of now being able to see every thread/sub-thread from my computer

Pop the radiator cap off then drive a new truck under it and replace the cap

What kind of parts are you looking for? Mechanical parts are usually interchangeable with other trucks of that era, or can be rebuilt, or refitted with other parts. Good luck with body parts.
Other option is try old truck junkyards.
Subscribe to "Wheels of time" magazine. It is devoted to old trucks, and trucking, and has a classified section.

    here you go

Mainly cosmetics. I'd like to get the dash replaced, and could use a driver door.

    Edit:

Those pics are from last year. I just had 2 virgin steers on Alcoa rims put on last week.

That's what I thought it was, the modern "Road Commode". I see it has the White type of Reyco suspension. Made the truck shake like a leaf on a tree. Tough units, though, I believe at this point, Volvo and GMC was just a name, and this truck had all White components, and few were tougher. They were popular company trucks, I'd think enough were around, a regular truck junkyard should have at least one. Got a Cummins, 10 speed, I bet.

300 Cummins 9-speed. I figure it's a good starter truck. Been wanting an '80 Freightliner COE, but haven't found one to my liking

That's the way to do it  When I bought my 1st truck, all my friends had Pete's and KW's. I couldn't afford that, so I found a '82 Western Star conv. also, mostly White parts. It had that same suspension, and after 2 months and 3 broken leafs, I had the back cut off and a Peterbilt air ride grafted on. It was a much better truck, and I made money with it. It rarely broke down. Like I say, those older White cabinovers were good trucks.
