The Polish are known for good foods, using the unprocessed poppy seeds that is. Metabolizes to morphine in the liver. =)

Well, this thread has given me a little piece of mind. I now know my company is pretty safe. They have not only made all weekly payments to me that have actually been good, they over paid me by $1500 two weeks ago.

Deere hunter, x1Heavy and buddyd157 Thank this.

this is true. that unless that driver-less or autonomous truck can back into a loading dock itself, load/unload itself, wash itself, fuel itself, sit at the truck stop counter and tell stories of being a former Seal, Ranger Special Ops, no one has any worries.

in fact, some of the newbies may not even still be employed as drivers in the next 10 years or less,

    so why worry..?????

My mom and pop outfit had $6.97 billion of revenue in the 4th quarter last year.
I'm hoping to sneak in a retirement before they go broke or automate...lol

    9. Equipment (trucks and/or trailers) starts getting repo’d.
    10. Higher echelons of staff(owner/CEO or managers, etc.) getting investigated (and sometimes indicted & convicted) of wrongdoing which usually ends in a prison sentence.
    11. Company starts selling equipment to scrape up sorely needed funds just to keep operating (including trying to make payroll).

Electric trucks are not practical yet. Takes cars 30 min to fully charge.

As long as you see train operators in trains, you don't have to worry about driverless trucks on public roads.
The railroads are separated from the public's use and have still manned trains. It would be easier to go driverless there. But it still didn't happen.

How many hundreds of thousands of dispatcher jobs have not been automated? Automating driverless trucks is a million times more difficult and expensive than a computer program that reads truck GPS and calculates the nearest waiting freight. Automated trucks are this years version of Y2K or Beanie Baby hysteria.
