I have driven truck in snow, quite a bit in the last 2-1/2 years. im afraid I haven't seen it as bad as it could potentially be tomorrow. the problem with milk truck is we really cannot shut down, i suppose in extreme and rare cases it might happen. I hope at least the farms are in the game for keeping the driveways clean..... but I know the reality of that too. they drop the ball too frequently..... anyways this could very well suck.

    Drive for your safety.
If you park it the load doesn't get there.
If you wreck the load doesn't get there.

milk hauling as an industry normally doesn't shut down, if farm tanks don't get emptied the farms have to dump their milk...…. they cannot stop milking.... I have always just went with it, I can drive in allot of situations BUT I have never been up against an extreme like what might be tomorrow morning.

if I wake up to go to work and cant see down my own street do I call the boss and tell him no way am I running today? this thing is not expected to clear up until Friday afternoon.

Best bet to call in now and see what they say about the storm. Get ahead of things.

its not so much a matter of delivering a load, its loading a trailer, which another driver would have to deliver. if he doesn't run, the tank doesn't get emptied with the eventual result being the farmer not getting their tank emptied.

If you can’t drive to work, then what chance do you have in your truck?

    Just saying

You're in charge of the truck but with an empty tank or still seems like you're going to get blown across the road the winds is going to put you out
If you crashed let us know where so we get the free ice cream.

actually a smooth bore tanker is a very different animal in the winds then a 53' van. im not so much worried about being blown off the road..... worried more about very poor visibility and traction up the hills if the roads have deep snow on them.

wind tends to go over the top and underneath a tanker, you will feel it but the chances of it taking you off the road aren't so great.
