got my bad boy scorecard for december...two "violations" for being ~30sec short what they want us to put for post trip. Honestly I hope that is one thing that goes away with the merger.

Been in training at Pasadena for almost eight weeks now ( so far so good ) and it's pretty much common knowledge the local Hennif terminal is merging in w/ us. Hennif had a smaller yard a couple of miles away that they were leasing and apparently that lease is up soon so it makes sense they are coming over.

Our dispatcher told us that the Henniff office staff should be moving into our building in the next 2-3 months though where they're going to be situated seems to be up in the air. Outside in the yard apparently they are going to be expanding the lot by about 1/3 to accommodate the Henniff trucks. When I first started back January there were only a handful of Henniff trucks but now they've become ubiquitous and things are starting to get a little cramped so the expansion is necessary and it's supposed to be done sometime by this summer.

One other interesting thing we've seen in the last few weeks, we had a handful of five or six spare Superior trucks at our yard that have apparently been repurposed for Henniff's lease / purchase program. My trainer and I have already seen a couple out on the road. Same Superior blue Macks just w/ Hennniff logo stickers on the side. It's an odd site and a bit disorienting frankly but I guess it's the future.

Btw, does anyone know what kind of trucks the new merged company will be getting as rollovers occur? My training and I have been debating whether it'll be Macks or Peterbilts???

What does Heniff pay trainers? My husband talked to a Heniff driver today and was told Heniff asked him to train but only paid $35 a day, so the Heniff driver said no. Lol, hopefully the guy was just pulling my husband's chain, because $35 a day isn't worth putting your life in someone else's hands.... most of the trainees my husband's had lately have been great, but I remember a few in the past that weren't. And some have been downright scary. Anyway just wondering, he'd like to stay a trainer after we've fully merged, but right now not sure it'll be worth it... TIA

I wasn't aware of the $900 401k matching cap until I noticed they stopped matching my contributions. That cap really sucks and if Hennifs makes it even worse it will be very disappointing.

I'm not aware of any cap on my 401k.
Theres a max on the match they contribute. @ 8% they'll match basically 25%. So its $25 match on a $100 put in your 401k. Last year they matched well over $2k for mine. Also the last 3 yrs have been fantastic on my return on investment, Averaging well over 17%

Heniff does not hire students, so I’m sure that 35 dollars a day is for people who are new to heniff, but have prior experience driving a truck. If they offer me 35 dollars a day to train a guy fresh out of school I’m definitely stepping down as a trainer

As a local driver that's what I get to train.
But We're not training someone to drive.
They only hire experienced tanker drivers, So It's 3 days just to make sure the new hires know how to pump and air off

Superior now has its own training center. So, I am sure their "We do not hire students" policy may be reworked. Superior is pretty famous for hiring straight out of CDL School.

I haven't been there in a while but, have some friends there. I was happy to stop going there because they had a #### dispatcher. I don't even remember his name he was some brown-headed obese dude. The terminal manager was a nice guy though. I went to one of their rodeos once and everyone there seemed to really like him. That says something about a guy.

I'll be honest that is one thing that always bothered me about Superior. They will hang on to some of the worst people. I know a guy that has had like 7 wrecks and they refuse to fire him. What's that about?

Other than that I don't really have any complaints about the company. I think Superior has a decent dynamic. I actually turned a job down at Heniff. I applied at Superior, Heniff, and Eagle and felt like Superior was more up my alley. So, I'm interested in seeing if these changes push me into the arms of a new company.
