So I have done loves tirepasa twice, both where in CA and about 7 hours into my trip. My steer tires both times are reading temperature of 124 to 126 degrees Fahrenheit. Is that a normal temp? New to tirepass in the past I have always just done it myself.
Thanx, Michael

Depends a lot on the temperature of the of the road. 126 is not a problem for the tire.
SmallPackage Thanks this. -
If bearings and brakes are healthy and running like they should and are not generating extra heat a tire could generate its own heat to about 100 degrees above road surface temp for normal operation.
Get a cheap infered temp gun from harbor freight and carry it next to your seat. Its a good habit to “shoot” all the moving/working parts now and then to make sure everything is happy.
You’d be surprised how hot somethings get and how other things you wouldn't expect stay cold.
Driveshafts and u-joint temps will surprise you. Nobody thinks about that. LolJDHIGGINS44, Brettj3876 and PSM379 Thank this. -
Also aluminum wheels well run cooler than steel wheels because aluminum is a natural heat sink and helps pull the heat away and dissipate it. The steel wheels well hold heat for a long time even after a stop were the aluminum wheel will get cool to the touch must faster.
That all effects tire temp also.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
The only time I worry about hot feet under a semi is during Death Valley or similar summer time heat in the American Southwest. Sonora to be particular. I find myself taking her easy just to get through the day. Sometimes the tires will melt off some of the pavement and build a layer. You know they are pretty hot at that point.

Tires should be inflated when they are cold. If you set the pressure at the temp they are after running 7 hours they will be underinflated when they cool down.
joseph1853 Thanks this.
