Hi all,
We can’t decide. Is $39,000 too much to pay for the year 2015? The trailer has Hendrickson suspension, steel wheels, diamond doors, has door vent. The brakes and tires are okay.
The whole trailer is clean and nice. The body over the Thermo King is cracked and bent in a few places. We did pretrip inspection, and it passed. The reefer nicely cooled down to -10 degrees.
Would you invest that much for your first trailer after buying a truck?

What unit, 200 or 300 series, hours ?

Too much money, for 39k you should be getting all aluminum wheels and a perfect body on the TK unit.
PE_T and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
If you’re asking about the price of the trailer, sounds reasonable to me, but I haven’t shopped refer trailers since 2015. -
Yes, I wish the body would be perfect over the thermo king reefer. But it is a used trailer. The trailer is nice. And the prices are consistent with the truckpaper. But I am sure you can get it cheaper at the auction. Too late now since we cannot wait anymore and travel around states to check the trailers and bid on them.

Sounds high to me. Steel wheels on a Reefer? Seriously?
You want air ride, aluminum wheels, skirts, tire inflation, load weighing, etc at a minimum. Remember, the market is way down, take advantage of that. I’ve saw 2020’s with all of that and more plus under 2500 hrs for $55,000 -

The hours are low for a 2015 reefer. You want to find out why. With all the fraud going on these days, it wouldn’t surprise me if the engine hours were hacked.
Blackhorse77 Thanks this.
