Hello, I'm finishing up some rural property development overseas, and will be back in the states next week.
Before going overseas I was at DHT. Things werent the best there, but I decided to reapply anyway. I'm truly a nomad, but ttechnically my residence is Nashville. No family ties.
Im looking for some other recommendations.
I have 2.5 years otr exp. All endorsements. Am flexible about hometime. Prefer automatics, since that's all Ive ever driven at the 2 otr companies ive worked for.
Im going to consider National Carriers (SW regional), since AZ and NM are my favorite states to drive. Also Stephens Carriers out of TN. Seems like they might be decent, and run long runs out west. Might get boring doing out and back to Los Angeles a lot though. Variety is nice when driving otr.
I prefer non-reefer jobs, and I suppose it's a plus if the company truly gives the 48-state experience. Canada and Alaska aren't out of the picture for me either. Weather could suck at times, but the alternative is most otr companies mainly run what I would call regional routes. This was the case at Britton Transport, my first company.
Coming back to OTR after 4 month absence

Tornado did some serious damage in Nashville yesterday; 22 killed.
I'm originally from Robertson County.

You are fixing to come back to what is essentially a war zone for some weeks. Employment will vanish like a mirage.
You probably will do well to work and help those in Nashville with whatever you can. In my time we picked up a chain saw and got to work. -
