I have been back about 3 months now. The pay is still lower than I can get elsewhere, and the benefits are on the better side of mediocre compared to most places I have worked. However, I have been back now for about 3 months and can definitely say I missed it here and am VERY happy overall.

I always wondered what it would be like to walk on crutches and now I know...

Blew out my knee at a customer last night.

ER said possible torn miniscus, needing surgery.
Will be seeing an Orthopedic surgeon today for an MRI to verify it.

Imagine at my age this is going to be a long recovery.

Oh no!! I feel your pain. Been there, done that, 4 times. But I'm sure the surgery is far more advanced than when I had mine back in the 80s and 90s. Good luck.

On an average, it takes about 4 - 6 weeks of time for the patient to recover completely from the meniscus surgery. The patient might be placed on crutches for a few days until he regains strength for walking on his own. If the surgery is a minor one, then he might be able to walk on his own. Though, the person may be able to resume his work within 2 - 4 weeks of surgery, it may take longer than 2 months for the muscles to regain their full strength. Strenuous activities can be resumed only after 2 months of proper rest and care.

At least it happened at work. Meaning you’ll get paid for your time off, fully covered med bills and a settlement.

Take care and don’t rush it. Do the therapy. Listen to the professionals and don’t let your company push you around....

    Good! Get well, man.
I fell down a flight of stairs on the 4th day at the job I’m at now. I dislocated my shoulder. The company was awesome. They sure earned my respect and loyalty. I’ll retire here if at all possible...

Haven't been here for awhile but Big G did something this week I wasn't sure I would ever see a trucking company do in this day and age.

They turned the speed of our trucks up to 70 mph.

I wonder if it is out of necessity to get more production out of the fleet since it is becoming more difficult to get decent drivers.

Will other companies begin to do the same?

Ours did this a few months ago. I think the driver retention aspect had a lot to do with it. I personally will never drive for a company with 62-65 mph trucks again. That goes for on guard and lane assist BS too.
