Yeah, I lean more towards just cleaning it up a little if they feel it's necessary and open it back up.

    Back to some fun stuff.

I won't post the link, but people are fighting over toilet paper in stores now. Just go to tmz dot com if you don't believe me ;-)

I’m on a 2.47 pm 1700 mile load to Stockton. Seems like it’s getting a little better.

Only thing I don’t agree with really Bout TTR sometimes is how bans are handed out like candy. I think it’s gotten better lately but there would be atleast a dozen more really great posters here just in the last couple years I’ve saw. I’m sure it’s tough being a mod as well but Losing valuable people sucks.
Hopefully the other thread comes back and this one gets deleted. Oscar you’d probably be banned if you werent an old timer here.

As for the supposed to be topic... this week the Midwest was horrid. Very bad.

I am noticing we are getting more calls on our driver ads. Met with one guy today who has been with the same small family owned company for 5 yrs and feels terrible about thinking of leaving, but they have been dead slow for a month.

Flip side is I’m also getting more calls the last few weeks on my trucks for sale. So, not sure what’s going on. Maybe drivers are starting to be easier to acquire so some of the smaller outfits are buying lower cost trucks and adding them?

    That’s my report from here.

All of the TP and paper towels for Costco in California comes from a single Georgia Pacific plant in Halsey Oregon. As you're driving up the I-5 and get to exit 216 where the Pioneer Villa truck stop is, look left and you'll see a big red and white striped smoke stack puffing away about 5 miles off the highway. They have a few hundred trailers pre-loaded floor to ceiling with paper products. On occasion I get a load out of there when they have an emergency, but most of it is contracted out to a few carriers. Have to get creative with my reefer on those loads.

Yeah, I've been there dozens of times. I started trucking with May in 2009. They had a contract with them. We'd pick up big rolls in Wauna and drop them there in Halsey, then pick up finished product in Halsey.and go south.

    OK.
It is one thing when a thread becomes gross, inhumane, individually biased.
It is another thing when a thread is regarding a rather broad subject matter and remains on a civilized level.

As long as there are no insults or personal attacks, I don't see a problem.

That was not a political thread. Things like elections, NAFTA, Tariffs, who runs for president, are naturally mentioned as the discussion meanders.

There is no way the thread has had any semblance of those I see down there in the political basement.

Discussion about rates being good or bad is sort of loose in its own nature. It cannot be as specific and narrow as .discussing whether there is any merit to changing main bearings before overhaul is due or what the best truck wash in the area is or something like that.

Adults were speaking... and someone takes upon himself to end it like we were bunch of teenagers playing too loud in the park after 10 pm. I think we deserve more respect.

After sleeping on it, I have to agree with you and what others have stated here.

There were very few political statements made in the thread over the course of a year.

I went back and perused this thread
Coronavirus (Covid-19) which has only been up for a couple of weeks and there are a LOT of politically charged references in that thread.

Referring to President Trump as, "the tangerine tyrant...ignoramus in chief...Chump" etc. Inferences that he (Trump) is downplaying the potential seriousness of the situation.

The thread isn't locked down in the political basement...

There's a line, but I do agree that Reo might have overreacted a little. Being a moderator on forums like these is a thankless job. There's no way I could do it, that's for sure! LOL
