Plenty of trucking jobs can have you home every day or a few days a week or weekends.

If you aren't locked into where you currently live I'd consider a possible move. Move to the right place and a local driver can make really good money compared to the local cost of living. You have to figure out if any of these places are right for you, I don't know your priorities for local schools, local recreation opportunities, local politics, local weather, etc.

    Rascal94 and Brettj3876 Thank this.

In my area CDL instructors make about twice Minimum Wage.

Almost every area has home daily fuel delivery, dump trucks, and food service/beverage delivery.

In 25 years I've known one driver to actually
Leave the industry and do something else.
And he was actually part time to begin with,
He started his own landscaping and tree trimming
    Business.
He's got 3 people working for him now.
    That was 10 years ago.

All the rest have either busted out on drugs,
couldn't pass the physical anymore, or had
    Accidents or tickets.
Basically they had to be forced out.

    bentstrider83 and x1Heavy Thank this.

I forgot his name but he is on here and was a tanker yanker. Got his teaching certificate while on the road and is now teaching kids in middle school.

Maybe a coach and a teacher.
@ethos is the guy and a hero to many of us.
Acquired his degree while being a long haul trucker.
