That is a 3.7% mortality rate for Corona Virus

    versus

    0.039 % for the flu

    about 100 times different

your numbers - perhaps it is a significant difference?

In terms of shear numbers...more die from the flu, drunk driving, or tobacco use than corona. The way the news coverage portrays it, it's spreading like a Cali wildfire in a Santa Ana windstorm

I am not advocating hoarding toilet paper but ignoring the problem also seems a little short sighted.

I am still working and have no plans to change that but perhaps skipping a baseball or basketball game or opera for a little while might be a reasonable Idea

It's 3.7 percent of those tested. In S Korea where they are testing almost everyone it is below 1 percent and they are finding that a high percentage of people testing positive have little to no symptoms.

the numbers I used were those infected and tested against the number of deaths

the total population is not relevant or the untested
    Population.

All pointed was based on the numbers the OP posted and why 3.7 might be worth acting with some concern versus the Flu at 0.04%

Spoke to one of our few remaining O/O's yesterday. He said that while he was talking to one of Wylie's long term drivers (who is retiring soon), he said that the goal is to eliminate all of Moore's double drop trailers with the regular tarps. When he asked why, apparently the scuttlebutt is, it's because it's too much work for the drivers...yes, you read that right, a flatbed carrier is getting rid of manual tarps because it too much work.o_O So, I guess when they say Wylie tough...you don't have to be that tough to work at Wylie. At Moore, we have to be Chuck Norris or Sly Stallone tough...at Wylie you have to be Peewee Herman or Sponge Bob tough. It's almost embarrassing to be called a Wylie driver the way it's going.

I always thought Wylie tough meant not complaining when something was shoved up your backside.

My home state of FL is giving in and shutting down crap because of the Corona hype. All public schools, colleges, state/city sponsored gatherings (including things like farmers markets) and sporting events closed until the end of the month. Which would have hurt my wife until she spoke to her boss about it, and they decided to pay her normal weekly paycheck as if she was working a normal schedule.

Think that’s the right thing to do and pay her...it’s not like it her fault...
