However significant they might be for grain growers. They are not an emergency item needed to cope with the virus.

Those who haul them are exempt anyway. If I am not mistaken. -
My daughter shared with me she stopped by our local Costco today and ppl were lined up and wrapped around the building outside. -
Scooter Jones Thanks this.

I applaud lifting the HOS for its genuine purpose of helping stressed areas.
I am against using it as a pretense to book more loads in order to make more money.
I am saying this in general terms, not necessarily related to this virus hype. If it is a hype, well find out sooner or later.Last edited: Mar 14, 2020

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on social media in trucking warning of a collapse. I think car haulers, chemicals (exclude fuel), flatbeds, and dry vans will have it the worst. Much of that business is tied up in manufacturing, construction, consumer spending, oil and gas, and import export international business. Even though so many are staying home and the country is shutting down many operations, people still need stuff. With a reefer, I think this will actually boost reefer demand. With more people stuck at home and such a reduction in restaurant service, there will be a greater demand for fresh grocery items. Dry vans are getting a boost right now to restock from the panic, but I think it will be short lived. I’ve read that we can expect this to last into June and maybe July. I’m cautious, but I’m not buying in to the fear right now.
