Let's say Wyle E coyote is too sick to buy anything from ACME, and ACME starts borrowing against the Big Bank Stuff for 1 billion dollars to stay open this year making more widgets no one will buy.

Your share price drops to .80 cents. Then to .50 and then to .05

The problem most people have is they are not aware ACME is bordering on dead man walking. SO they think .05 is cheap and pile into it with a 10.00 bill.

And one day... ACME Inc is out of business because their entire workforce is sick. No more widgets.

Aaaannnnnd it's gone. Your shares that is and all the money you poured into buying more.

Remember.... If you owe the Bank it's YOUR problem for that 1000.00 debt.

IF you are ACME Inc and you owe the bank a billion dollars on a worthless company, its literally the BANK's problem. Their very existence is threatened now.

Seriously though, it isn't difficult since they made apps and websites for trading. You can get in with a few hundred and play penny stocks like slot machines (not a good idea but it's a strategy.) or get something long term with a dividend (when the company makes a profit, they send you a check, usually a few cents per year per share.) and you can set up that dividend to buy more stock too.

Used to be you had to hire a broker and they wouldn't touch you without $5-10k to start with. Companies might offer a 401k and you can set up a portfolio.

Also, I hate how they make all these shadow companies to distance themselves from their drivers. You have the van and the t-shirt, they monitor you with Amazon software and GPS, but you're still an "independent contractor."
