So here is what I am being told the cost to fix all this madness is.

What was the story that lead you to going with a rebuild? What tests were done? I would seriously consider a compression test before dropping any more cash.
Think back to basics - the fire triangle. Air, fuel, heat. If you've got good air flow in/out of the cylinder, good compression (compression is your heat) and fuel, it HAS to do something. At this point (and in my own, personal opinion) not nearly enough has been checked/verified to make me lean towards a rebuild yet.lwlevens, Isafarmboy, spsauerland and 1 other person Thank this. -
Has anyone suggested pulling the air cleaner out and tryin to start it? I've seen air cleaners prevent things from starting

Yeah you can spray all the ether in there you want, but if it's not getting into the cylinders it's of no use

I'm not able to watch any of OP's videos but I've seen ether light off engines from the 40's running 6:1 compression and spinning over at literally 2 RPM. A slightly slow crank should still make enough heat to auto-ignite ether.
spsauerland and Rideandrepair Thank this.
