You've got the North Dakota location, but also norther alberta in your signature. I was just going by the US laws for hazmat tanker.

    FerrissWheel and booley Thank this.

Ah! Having a Canadian license means I’m except from all the endorsements down here in the USA.

I don’t need tanker, don’t need hazmat, etc.

    FerrissWheel and booley Thank this.

A chain low from side to side that pulls back about 2 or more feet to stop sliding in an emergency stop
This is especially good with ibc tanks because of slosh.

tommymonza, FerrissWheel, SAR and 3 others Thank this.

Had to get the big boy out today. That 30’x30’ ain’t for sissy. But it wasn’t that bad, turned out okay. Still trying to work it out. It doesn’t pass the speed test yet.

Far as i know penalty strap is only required at the lead unit at the front and after a gap if split loaded. If there is a headboard or dunnage wall touching the first units it isnt necessary. But rear units only need one strap. Atleast thats what theyre enforcing in the southeast. One of our drivers got a ticket for not having two up front recently.. But not for single straps on rear units.

Not saying more is bad or anything. Some loads of rock ill put two or even three, no matter what position its in.

I recommend 2 on the back (and some jurisdictions insist) when it is IBC totes that are liquid filled.

I kept my hazmat for years and years. Every time I'd renew my license, I would just barely squeak through the multiple choice test. The only time I would ever use it would be to pick up a pallet of paint once in a while from a manufacturer about 5 miles away from our plant. Finally when they added all the tougher standards associated with homeland security, I just gave it up (I did manage to get a TWIC card though, so apparently my background wasn't too colorful)

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.
