We opened a new authority about two months ago. It took us two months to set up everything. We survived. We didn’t know about the Covid-19 when we were going on our own. It could help us after two dry months to get things going after recent shortages.
I am now setting up accounts.
I have never done it before.
So, I am asking stupid questions. There is a an application I have to fill out asking about claim info, accountant info, dispatcher info, etc. Since I am the owner operator, do I just put my own info in every category?

Yes. If you are going to be payed by ACH I recommend setting up two accounts with the same bank,so you can transfer money from the account you receive payment from. Companies like TQL have been known to remove money for claims after payment. With the accounts at the same bank the transfers should be instantly done, versus taking a couple days transferring to another bank.

For that reason, I picked factoring. So, what should I fill in in the claim section, the agent at the factoring? Or should I put my name everywhere?
Thank you for a quick response.

The answer to your original question is yes, your name and info on every category. Don't waste time writing it all though, just put SAME across the page.

I understand some people need to factor to get started but if I were you I would save quickly and get out of it as quickly as possible. I only have to make about one call a week wondering where a payment is, if that. Factoring is just yet another hand in your cookie jar.

Yes , just put your info . Never factored in the 4 yrs running but do as you must I guess . I work with 2 brokerages that pay you early with no % off the top , some within 2 days some within 4 days normally.

While setting things up, I did choose factoring. I guess I will use it at the beginning to get things running. But after I picked other party, it’s asking me how fast I want to be paid. Since I already picked factoring, I really don’t care. ??? Why is it asking me for the email address to receive payment? I

Just give them all your contact info...most apps have a place for payment. Mail check, ach, quick pay, or factoring. You will do this in your sleep in a few weeks. It will need done with every broker. I use to carry a printer and print it all and take pics and email it back.

a new trick I do now - from my phone and never print a piece of paper. If you open a pdf from an email, you can use the markup tool and insert text or pre saved signatures. I assume a tablet might be easier to some, I just learned how to do it all on my phone. When I’m done editing the pdf, I hit the done button and it asks if I want to “reply all”! So I choose that and it automatically sends directly back to where it came.

then you wait for the “rate confirmation”...again open and fill out on your phone. Usually just a signature...reply all...done...head to pickup!

    Blackhorse77 Thanks this.

Good day, I'm about to put the insurance on my new numbers. I have TBS as my factoring. Which brokers pay they way you're getting paid.

How do you do mark ups if the document has multiple pages? I seem to know how to add the signature, but I don’t know how to move the document down to place it in the right spot. Thank you. I did learn something new. And it definitely helps.
