My absolute best week was $4700 to the truck, usually followed by a $3000 week and finish it up with a $1700 week, then start all over again. Every third weekend off. They gouge the #### out of you for insurance. Physical damage is $1000 more per year than if you had your own policy with great west. Then, if you don't want to pay the $15,000 escrow (not a typo), you get to donate another $106/month to get the $1500 escrow. You're paying their trailer and cargo deductible up front or the insurance deductible buy down (?) policy.
Dispatchers are pretty clueless and talk in circles. No one knows what the other is doing, and they literally sit next to each other, look to your right and ask her, why are you calling me? Half the time you don't know who you're supposed to be dealing with. Everyone is nice enough, but for what they're taking from you, they should be. If I had a new truck payment, if be working for the bank... There's no money here. Stuff going out pays decent but you get nothing but garbage coming back. "I got a load for you that's $1/mile gross, want it?" "Would you like to work for free for the next 4 days? Then why the hell do you think I want to?" Clueless. They take 29.5% of everything but the fuel surcharge, and they openly admit they'd take that too if they could legally. Extra stop pay, driver unload pay, etc. Their grubby mitts are on it.
Some of their leased trailers are decent but a large portion should be scrapped.
With how they handle things, it's quite obvious they have only themselves and their bottom line in mind. If you're looking at them, I'd look elsewhere.
YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

I'm leased on. Might be different on the company side.

Why would you pay your physical damage insurance through your company when, as you say, you can get it cheaper elsewhere? Are you still there?
bzinger, Lonesome, TB John and 1 other person Thank this. -
jimmycrackcorn Thanks this.

There's an "all or none" approach to their insurance.
-
It is illegal for a company to force their O/Os to buy insurance, among other things, from them. FMCSA Truth in Leasing Regulations specify this.
baha and deathB4decaf Thank this. -
It's either the entire insurance package or the $15,000 escrow deposit at a rate of 5% of gross. You're not required to buy anything but I'm not a huge fan of letting someone else hold 25% of my annual net for their convenience.

Current monthly insurance rates with the deductible buy down. You either take all of this for the amounts listed or you take none of it, get your own policy, and pay 5% of your gross into an escrow until you reach $15,000. I've been in this game a long time and this is the worst I've ever seen. Their rating with Great West must be absolute garbage to get numbers like this.

No, It would be foolish to stay here. The previous post maybe explains the insurance a little better.
