I put on new Michelin energy steers about a year and a half ago and they are wearing perfectly, and will replace with the same .
I checked tread depth yesterday and outside tread are at 7/32s and centers at 10/32s .
I normally would pull these tires now but thinking I may run them further ..
Any thoughts ?
How far down do you take your steer tires ?

Annually. They go into the old spares pile. (Company driver, I usually have all 10 replaced in october with virgin new tractor set front to back by first snow.
We had a pair of Yoko Steers in FFE run for 210,000 and be ###### if those steers *(And bridgestone drives) were more than half tread left. I would not be afraid to take them one more winter.) Seeing as how the last one was all about ice.
I don't mind tooting my horn on original tires, brakes, clutch etc that far in a year in team. Its at that time probably the best expression of quality ever in my lifetime when it comes to truck equiptment being durable.Rideandrepair, 650cat425 and bzinger Thank this. -
I'm partial to michelins on the steer tho .Rideandrepair, 650cat425 and x1Heavy Thank this. -

I had a set of them on my old 71 ford and with that hard compound on them they MORE than saved my bacon a few times. I remember them with joy and fondness. But my family? Just a bunch of wasps tearing me down for buying "Fancy 110 dollar tires" when 25 dollar tires will just do good"
The last time I had 20 dollar tires on a old 70 maverick were the little 135 cooper falcons something like 60 R 15's and they lost the whole car in the rain one day almost forced two oncoming vehicles into a head on (And with children in the first one)
Never again. I run like 235's on there from Michelin. Family be ######.Rideandrepair, 650cat425 and bzinger Thank this. -

Run them some more,it’s springtime now. As long as they’re keeping a balance, they’re not old enough for dry rot, meanwhile try to make a deal on new ones, might get some $$ for them on trade.Ive been putting mine on the drives. Getting 2 steers soon. These will go on the drives. Sometime before next winter, I’ll buy 8 drives. Meanwhile I’ll run these out another 80 k
