I'm sure I'll miss it on occasion, feel a little nostalgic for the highway, but I think I've had my fill of the road for now. 27 years, and I feel like we're on a downward spiral that keeps accelerating, with the lack of manners, the road rage, the inattention, the "me first" syndrome.
I've been offered a position that gets me off the road, but suits my skills, and allows me to contribute more in some other areas I have an interest in (customer service, maintenance). Negotiations and introductions are in the works, but sometime next week or the following week, I will become the Wilson hostler at the Costco DC in Sumner, WA.
A welcome change...

Hey, that's great! Yard dog gets a little boring, but it pales in comparison to what's going on out on the road.

I'll take bad knees over a heart attack or something else because I'm overweight. I was rushed to the hospital last week because of a kidney stone that lodged itself in my ureter, causing my left kidney to rupture. I'm 53 now, and deeply concerned about my health. Time to get back into shape, take better care of myself.rachi, bentstrider83, D.Tibbitt and 11 others Thank this. -
Good for YOU, man! -
Good on ya, Jreding! I've been beating the bushes for a decent paying yard job, and when I find one I'm grabbing it!
