Im just wondering what are the requirement of insurance and fmcsa for power only. Thanks

This was many years ago, not sure it changed, but as a "power only" O/O, all I needed was a base plate and liability for bobtail, while I was under dispatch, everything else was taken care of.

I think that's all you need for FMCSA but each company you work with will have their own requirements such as trailer interchange insurance or adding a non-owned trailer on your policy with different values.

If you call your insur. agent and get that trailer inter/change put on it wont be much more, if you will be hauling any hi dollar stainless trailers you may need to get 50 thou. or a little more if you will be hauling new trailers at any time?
