What are the huge axle ends on the fuel trucks? They look to be about 8 to 10 inches in diameter.

This things are huge. Their way bigger than regular grease axle hubs with the plugs. Ill try and find a pic. Ive seen them on Superior tank lines trucks out here in So Cal.

Not enough picture to see.
I don't see the need for huge (Relatively speaking) hubs holding enough grease or oil to stay cold or something else entirely. If I can discover why we have them... -
