. I drove R model and Super Liners with camel back suspension all over the USA and Canada hauling heavy equipment, horizontal drill rigs etc. I would take a R model Mack over this 587 Pete anyday. I made more in 88 at 9.00 per hr 84 hrs a week, as a construction worker . than I make now a lot of weeks. Pulling a reefer trl.

    Well...

Back in the day, there was the ‘Lil Fat Girl.’ You know, curvy in all the right spots and built for comfort. Now they call them Thick. Still built for comfort. Unfortunately, now there’s lots of Buffarillas (part buffalo, part gorilla) with anger issues.

Knew a young driver who has only known Buffarillas. His old lady worked at Victoria’s Secret, and she was told that she couldn’t come out front during business hours.

“But Six, she’s only 275 lbs!”

At 5’8. Waitaminute...”Only”??? Mean Joe was 275 lbs! Well, as I said, that’s all youngun has known.

“Hey Six, she was reading 50 Shades of Gray. I wonder if she’s going to learn anything.”

Bestiality is a sin. I read that somewheres. For bedroom music, have Alexa play Rawhide. For porn he probably watches Jurassic Pork and flogs during the TRex scenes.

Ever walk into one one of those fast food burger joints, and Shaniqua is standing behind the counter, angry with you because she should be making $15 an hour, despite her piss poor PR skills, bad work ethic, and that thing she does with her head and eyes when she gets excited or irritated? Well, that’s a modern thing, because that didn’t happen back in the day. She got a “man”, and two “baby daddies.” And she thinks you want her. Makes me dislike fast food even more. Wait...Shaniqua is the assistant manager? No wonder people eat those roller dog things.

    Simply astonishing.

I have never had a Mack leave me stranded on the side of the road as they made an excellent truck. I like my 389 better for comfort, but the Mack’s were a very dependable rig. I started at Consolidated Freightways in 87 doing city work in an old road road tractor making $14 something an hour and thought I had hit the jackpot. I have been extremely fortunate that my wages have been good most of my career and still are as some segments of trucking exceed others.

20k a year even in 1986 was good if you lived in the right area. A grand a week was normal for some off shore oil work. My best friends dad worked off shore, he was like a millionaire to us

Speculation, but I'd assume trailer weight and lost work hours from back pain. My back was kind of destroyed after 5 years at ABF. I didn't know if it was going to come back. These years at Brown have done me a lot of good. I'm still stiff a lot of mornings, but not like I was.

Macks are great, dependable trucks. I just wish they could figure out how to make their single axles a little more comfortable. Lol

Single axles already suck, but theirs suck worse.
