Is this the same association that just got their butt handed to them in court for making up statistics about bad trucks on the road?

They DO realized we have like 15 ppl up here?

All kidding aside, A LOT of these "trucking companies" are farmers with one or two truck who registered trucks as a business seperate from the farm. And we all know how pristine farm trucks are....

Not to mention exempt from a lot of the DOT regs. I don't think you even need a cdl for them. Good luck going after the farmers. That's one group you do not want to piss off.

Why would you even compare it to population, anyways? Trucks in violation per total number of trucks would make more sense.

In Minnesota you don't need a CDL to drive those farm crop trucks. Don't know about ND.

As long as you're hauling your own ag commodity, and are within 150 miles of your farm, you can operate a tractor-trailer with just a Class D operator's license. More and more farmers around here are buying TR/TT outfits instead of the smaller farm trucks. Saves a little money versus paying someone to do the longer hauls (beyond the local elevators) for you.
