Bacteria unfortunately do not recognize borders. The so called authorities, are faced with an unprecedented situation in our life time and we are basically unprepared in many ways. Just my opinion, but our knowledge and ability to react is being severely tested.

Here's a very sobering read about an episode of this in the not that distant past. Granted living and hygiene conditions are much better today. However, we may want to take this seriously and pay attention to the details and events as more becomes known.

That's at odds with what the cbsa told me and I can't find anything official to support your claim. Do you have a source?

    edit to add

Exemptions to self-isolation for 14 days will be provided to healthy workers who provide essential services. This includes workers in the trade and transportation sector who are important for the movement of goods and people across the border, such as truck drivers and crew on any aircraft, train or marine vessel crossing the border. It also includes healthy people who have to cross the border to go to work, including health care providers and critical infrastructure workers.

I applaud your decision but weeks or months? Looks like this could go for a good while.

To be honest I'm more worried about picking it up at the local grocery store than while I'm working.

My contact with people while on the road is very limited and it's easy to avoid crowds. Keeping distance from others isn't a problem.

Nothing is 100% but with proper precautions I feel it's easier for us to limit our risk of exposure than many others. Those poor folk working in the grocery stores...

As long as your working. I called and asked. When you go home, you quarantine.

Hmm, not sure who you called but until I see something official I will continue to go to the grocery store, bank etc. as needed.

Only as needed and with all recommended distancing and what not, as should everyone, but I need to be properly supplied so I can limit exposure while on the road.

Only if you show symptoms. Lol. They aren’t even asking me anymore at both us and cda customs.

This is a link to the document we were given at the border way back one week ago tomorrow. NOTE on page one they are very explicit about your activities for the next 14 days. Run where you want to with it. This is the OFFICIAL line as far as I know. You can be a carrier and NOT show symptoms.
Agreed we need food for the house etc. Admit broke the rules to go and stock up same day. Kept the distance and went home. Washed a vehicle at a public wash. Closest person in the next bay. Washing hands until raw. So handle as you wish. Go visit Grandma and give her a big kiss and hold her hand, when you get off the road. Just stay away from here. Look at the numbers piling up each day. Do we need to have a PHD to comprehend this crap. PLEEZ

Yes they are. I was given the same handout but was also told that it doesn't apply to me as long as I don't show symptoms.

The official words that I posted in post 42 are what I am going by.

The idea that we are considered essential yet at the same time can't buy groceries is ludicrous. The idea that I'm somehow more likely to be infected after travelling to northern Wisconsin than after travelling to Southern Ontario is equally ludicrous.

Since all this started I've only been asked once about my health. That was last Friday when they gave me the handout.

It's strange pulling up to the border and seeing this.
