Hello. Im new to the forum and just bought an 2001 Autocar triable dump to start a part time business. The truck has a N14 Cummins red top in it. When I push on the accelerator and it gets to 1000 RPM it cuts out and goes to idle. If I hold it there it'll start loping. I can press the throttle and get it over the 1000 RPM and it seems fine. I changed the throttle position sensor and no change. Ive changed the filters, the check valve behind the ECM cooler and the little filter on the fuel pump. This has me a little stumped. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    John

Did you replace the accelerator pedal itself, they are a wear item as they when the wear out, it will become erratic and your acceleration will suffer.

This is where you connect Insite and monitor the throttle pedal % through it's pedal travel and see what the ECM is seeing for position to make sure it is smooth. Also check for codes while there. After that, you need to check for aerated fuel. Best way is to run a new test line from the pump straight into one of your tanks to see if the problem goes away.

Will having a worn fuel pedal cause the throttle position sensor to fail??

It will cause erratic throttle response.

You can’t just change the tps. Must buy whole pedal assembly

I would hate to say yes and have you spend money and it not be the issue. I swapped out the pedal on my Pete. Was 900 bucks from the dealer but I found same thing with same part number brand new on eBay for 250
