    Here is the back story:
I recently purchased a truck through Paccar financial and I will be signing on with a carrier that gives me the option to run under their plates. I have a temp tag for now (since I just purchased the truck) and am confused about how titling and IRP are connected. The part that confuses me is that I want to run under the carriers plates. For example; I live in NC. The company that processes the title for the lender wants to send it to the IRP office in my home state; North Carolina . I guess I am just missing the connection here. So, does running under the carrier's plates dictate how I proceed with the title? Or when the time comes is there a procedure to move the plate to the carrier's state?

No that has nothing to do with the title..... most carriers you still have to pay the title in NC even though you plan on running your carriers plates.

And I don't know about sending the title to the IRP office, but they should send the title to Raleigh and then they send the title to the lender.
