Actually @D.Tibbitt a buddy of mine had a load of them big bales on his stepdeck and claimed he was a "big baller hay hauler" and I sent that picture to him sayin' that's how a big baller hay hauler would do it...

 

When @Dave_in_AZ sees this, he's gonna go get a flatbed!

 

I may venture into the flatbed world.

29 bales @ 44,000 pounds, so roughly 1500 pounds each.

 

700lbs to 1500lbs depending on moisture content and how tight it is packed

 

I highly suggest 81 to 84 and not stopping at all in NY. That bridge should only be $13 on 5 axles or so. The pride in springfield mass usually has spots and is secure, free if you fuel. 50s diner is next door. Theres very little parking up there.

 

I actually took 95 the up until 287 off the Jersey turnpike so I could skip the GW Bridge. It added 33 miles to my route. But through all the big cities on 95, even DC and Baltimore at morning rush hour, I never dropped below 55mph. It was kind of scary. I’m at the Pilot in Sturbridge, Mass, it’s only 14 miles from my drop
