As I have said in these forums many times now. If I catch a bad case of the Flu, OR this virus I'm in serious trouble. I have breathing issues, I have CAD, I have Epilepsy, and I am an insulin-dependent diabetic. I am taking some medications that have lowered my immune system. So understand I am not recklessly blowing off the seriousness of this virus or for that matter anything that attacks the human respiratory system. For me, this is not just some debate on a trucking forum over who is right. I need vital information and it really bothers me when I see our experts all over the place with advice and predictions. I have already been exposed to it already, thankfully I tested negative and will be testing again next week.
The VA has canceled almost all non-emergency testing. I have not been able to get an x-ray for over a week. I had a seizure on Wednesday (of last week)and jammed up my right arm when I fell in my kitchen. Normally I would call my neighbor who has a key to come in and help me. Now I can't, so I had to get up all by myself, I have hurt my right arm and the VA won't do an x-ray. So understand this is also adding to my issues with all this Covid issue right now. With me this is not some debate, it's my life!

I wear my mask and gloves everytime I get out of the truck. I get the looks and some comments but I don't care. My health is my and my Dr's business, not some trucker who doesn't know me.Muskie Thanks this. -
Moose thoughts with you. My fiance is in a similar boat. COPD and auto-immune disease.
I think the reason the "experts" are all over the place is because there is just so much we don't know right now. So there are some that are going with the raw numbers, some assuming less based on "under reporting," and others over assuming based on world numbers. Really till I'd say this time next year we won't know what the first time around the globe this virus did to us. So really forget any "numbers" right now. Just take the steps to be safe. We all should be doing that regardless of how many/few lives this might take. People are like the flu kills XXX people. Well does that mean we should go around sneezing and wiping our germs on them to risk killing them more? Nope. If we took common sens steps there'd be less deaths from ANY flu.Jenn72 and Truckermania Thank this. -
I had a late morning appt at the Hampton Va VA hospital. I had to go to 2 clinics. That place is in a virtual lockdown. You have to go by a checkpoint and they will either let you by with an ID bracelet or make you leave the property. I had a major fight with them just to get my driver in with me so he could help me. I am still scheduled to re-test but as of now, there is no actual date. I am doing OK in general. My neighbor who works as a flight attendant checks in on me from time to time and a guy that runs a medium-size carrier calls me. (he was with me this morning). I'm trying to stay optimistic all will be OK and that medical research worldwide will come up with treatments that can cause recoveries and maybe even a vaccine that will prevent it. I also have at least a thousand full seasons of TV programs in my library. It is a bit funny to me, but I got word from my neurologist also this morning that I could enjoy 2 (SMALL) cups of coffee a day for a while. Coffee/Sodas don't mix well with some of my anti-epileptic medications.
Truckermania, Jenn72 and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
@Moose1958 prayers to you!
