Why can’t this stupid thread just die? It should have more than a year ago. American trucks are far better and make Euro trucks look like toys. Why is there even a debate about it? Stupid stupid thread.

Only reason the last one did is because a certain person couldn’t keep politics out of it.

Yeah but it keeps popping up near the top whenever I refresh the forum page looking for new content. Y’all need to get a life. Euro trucks suck and everybody knows it except for stupid Europeans.

Why don't you do your research and see how European trucks are far better in technology and safety compared to American trucks.

People like you is why the last thread had to be closed. You're making it worse by commenting. Get a life? Apparently you don't have one because you chose to open it and comment.

I don't deal with private customers, i do fleets, government sales and special projects (concrete pumps, mixers with concrete pumps, crane trucks etc. which take lot of thinking and time).

example: it takes me 5-6minutes to create stock tractor if i already know what i want to put of equipment. database includes more than 4000 models.
to make stock tipper including body similar time.
this trucks are produced within 2months (fastest production i ever get was 5weeks including tipper body installation)
if i have to think little bit about "regular trucks" it can take 20min-30max

to check if it is possible to produce (date, technical configuration, price and if does comply with legal legislation), order and confirm order by other person can take another 5minutes

something usual in my world is 1.5-2h, whole most are done within 3hours.

but some special projects can take 3 weeks to make configuration based on about 6-7h work per day.
whole project and preparation can take up to 2years before truck get into production.
    production takes 6-10months.
military trucks and airport firefighter chassis are most complicated

specific truck that took me 3weeks to build was airport fire truck.
from base model they did this conversion:
    -change cab
    -change whole air intake system
-change rear mudguards on front axle (to adopt different wheel size)
    -replace air tanks
    -replace battery box
    -replace def tank
    -replace fuel tank
    -replace SCR cat
    -extend overhang
-both wheelbases modification (by replacing all 3axles)
-change both front and rear suspension
    -changed steering system
-single wheels replaced with twin tires and latter with other size single wheels
-v6 engine replaced with v8 engine
-engine get performance tune to comply with acceleration rules
    -gearbox retrofitted with automatic system

it took 10days to order such truck, you order basic truck than need to remove components and add another, than someone from factory have to check this manually if it fit or not than next day other changes etc.
than it took 1week to get permit from continental that this tires can under specific conditions withstand this speeds(exceed design rating) at this load.

i have been on a place where they can drive whole lifetime of a truck in 12 days regarding shocks and vibrations.
this place is used to test truck till it die. they can test every new components within 12days make various optimization etc.
their semitrailers are one for export markets with huge springs 44k axles, open deck trailers weight about 25000lbs, because they are only that can survive on this conditions more than 1 lifetime of truck.

they have all euro brands on same place. various american trucks, chinese, russian and indian trucks.

btw one certain chinese truck have frame that is at 25-30years ahead of design than those used on american trucks. try to figure out why?

    daf105paccar and snowbird_89 Thank this.
