I'm lobbying Congress for more rigid testing and retesting for unsafe, reckless truck drivers that endanger all our lives when we try to enter the freeways. They are a menace.

My CDL renews in April and I had an appointment 2 weeks ago which was cancelled when the Sh** hit the fan. Tried to stop by the CDL DMV in west Sacramento yesterday and it was completely closed. Was kind of worried about other states honoring the renewal extension until I read this thread. Thanks for posting it.

The weather isn't worth it, unless you can afford your own personal space out there. Want to hear the bad news? Texas is even more dangerous in all actuality, especially low income high welfare areas. Only difference in Texas is that the playing field is level, you get to fight back, and it's a generally accepted unspoken rule...people aren't coddled and encouraged by a socialist government so they know they're on their own, it causes people to take more personal responsibility and encourages better PERSONAL DECISIONS when the consequences fall immediately and directly onto your own head. Where in a place like CA, carrying yourself with autonomy is almost a challenge to get messed with because the jackals all have corrupt lawyers on speed dial, in texas everybody sort of has a keen respect for their fellow resident's capacity for immediate violence, nobody coming to save you. It helps encourage a voluntary 'act right' attitude, knowing that there is no socialist democrat daycare 'be nice' rule keeping you from getting your head blown off if you decide to take advantage of somebody. Big boy rules. But even in Texas, specifically blue regions (Houston, Austin, San Antonio, all the big metroplexes really) the tourniquet of socialism continually gets tighter every year, to accommodate and assimilate new comers and non participant parasites who need the protective wings of socialism to guard them while they nurse on taxpayer juice boxes. It helps get the blue vote, anthropological cancer.

I just remember that last time I went to DMV (around 2016) I was switching back to my old Calfornia CDL number after having lived in Florida for a few years. Maybe that is why I had to take all the written endorsement tests again. I didn't have any tickets or points against me. Hopefully I won't have to go through that again this time.

If anyone is able to get an appointment after they open back up again, please post on here how you did it. Before everything closed down I even had a second backup appointment I had made using the automated telephone system. On that system they didn't as your name, phone number or anything. It just gave you a confirmation number.

If I go online right now via the web appointment system it still shows I have an appointment in april. Using this: DMV Appointments under "View or Cancel Appointment" even though the lady I got ahold of the other day said all those were supposed to be cleared off the system.
