What we need is a shelter, stay at home order, nationwide, or at least recommendation to governors from the national government. We are all interconnected and need to act in cohesion to defeat and get over this pandemic sooner. Otherwise we could see a much longer and greater 1st wave that keeps the economy at a standstill, greater deaths. Unfortunately our federal administration isn't providing that necessary leadership and if anything making matters worse by providing a confusing, if not faulty, message.

People of New York are not sheltering in place, subways are still packed. Sorry if you can’t stay away from others I don’t want you fleeing to my neighborhood which they are doing.

Are you there? How do you know this? I see that NY city does not have a shelter in place, but is strongly recommended by the governor. I've seen photos of NY City, and all I see is empty streets with only necessary vehicles moving about. Also seen almost completely empty subway trains.

From what I understand subways are running but of course are not as full. Many doc’s and nurses use subways to commute.

A former Magnum driver recently made a delivery in NYC and remarked on how empty the roads were compared to normal. It’s not like everything is stopped, but the volumes are much lower.

Heck in small town Indiana cops have started challenging people who are out apparently for no good reason so it’s really a state by state locality by locality decision at this stage.

Some trains are crowded at peak times because they reduced the amount of trains. They should have ADDED trains to spread out the people. Most NYers don’t have cars and have jobs that are considered ‘essential’... they need the trains to get to and from work.
MTA Announces Service Cuts In Response To Coronavirus-Related Ridership Drop

I was on Long Island 2x the last 8 days. The only way to LI is through NYC... there are WAY less people on the streets and highways. It usually takes 1.5-2 hours to go the 50 miles between my delivery/pickup on Long Island and NJ via the LI Expressway to BQE, over the Verrazano to Staten Island and over the Gothels to NJ... took me 55 minutes this week. If you know those road... that’s something else!! DC and Baltimore also was a breeze...even at 1630-1700

instead of blaming a region, we should all be taking all the precautions and safeguards needed to stay safe. Show some love towards your fellow truck drivers, truck stop employees, restaurant workers, grocery store clerks and especially the health care workers cause they are really really taxed right now.....

I kinda did my part today. I rarely eat out of a truckstop, especially avoid fast food places. I am at a mid sized Cenex up here in WI that has a local sit down restaurant. I actually ate my 1st Denver Omlette in over a year(took it to go of course)...and let the waitress keep the change as a tip...even when your home, your local mom-n-pop family restaurant is a better place to get a carry-out meal. The chain restaurants will survive, buy local and help the small businesses survive.

Do you have to have your Hazmat to work for Magnum, or have to get it if you don't have it? Never needed it in the past running reefer, but I imagine they are taking some brokered hazmat stuff there. Thank you.

Do not have to have it to apply, but they want you to get one. Makes dispatch easier.

you'll want it as it's an automatic increase to cpm on all loads, hazmat or not, and the hazmat loads are some of the better ones.
