If I remember, Tri State hauled all the nasty stuff, like nuclear waste or contaminated. You never ran with a Tri State truck. I never saw these, sure looks fancy, with the dual a/c units. Maybe where these guys went, they couldn't get out of the truck. Does anyone recognize the truck. I don't think it's a Freightliner. I thought maybe a Marmon.

I think NE of Armarillo is a site where they disassemble nuclear weapons. There is quite a bit of area not open to the public.

I recall those old trucks from the day, you stayed away from them due to what they had on them.

Thats probably a freightliner. Probably a 1980's or earlier.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Yes Pantex had six Mormons and custom trailers and a few SUVs that would follow them around never really figured out exactly what they were hauling.. My son-in-law has a couple of brothers that work there on security most of the time they just drive around and play video games on their phones but they do have to go to training every now and again!

If I had to pull security in a place like that I would be so bored. I need detail work and to be kept occupied and playing games wont do it.

    650cat425 and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

Looks like a white/freightliner from the mid 70's, when I started driving OTR I drove a truck that looked like that in the front but was a single sleeper and so very rough riding and had the bingo card license plate, that was with Midwestern Distribution out of Ft Scott Ks and running teem making 09.5 cents a mile and when you bought fuel you was rewarded with S & H Green Stamps, ran double logs and sleep was rare. I miss those old days, life was so much more simpler.

"The primary mission of the Pantex Plant is the assembly, disassembly, testing, and evaluation of nuclear weapons in support of the NNSA stockpile stewardship program. Pantex also performs research and development in conventional high explosives and serves as an interim storage site for plutonium pits removed from dismantled weapons."
