Planning to purchase a truck cash to remove the truck payment to keep overhead low , so I am not tied to working when the wheels are turning . Planning to haul End dump or flatbed

    1. Is there enough work to work local / regional in the northeast region (Pennsylvania ,jersey , NYC)

    2. is buying a day cab to work possible in the northeast region ?

    3. buying a cash truck while still working company job to get things done on truck before applying for My numbers possible ?

    1. In short yes. We're based in NEPA 40min from scranton 25min from Binghamton NY. We run 2 dry vans and are home every day. Avg 1800mi a week doing 100% spot freight

    2. Yes but it's nice to have that bunk back there. Imo go with a small sleeper you won't regret it.

    3. I know a few who've done the same thing. Went out and got a truck, slowly got it road worthy and then jumped ship

Alright cool , I was looking in to Freightliner Classic with a 36” sleeper with a fairly short wheel base for NYC ,

do you have any recommendations on where I can find freight ? Do you guys run load board or have brokers that pretty much dispatch you guys , or leased your truck to a company or own authority

Own auth. We work with about 5-6 brokers that like our service and will call us even before they post it on the board.

I can't give you much info on flats but pulling vans were above 2.50 on all miles right now

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Perfect appreciate your input . I’m planning to take advantage of the #### economy to buy a truck for dirt cheap so when the economy is back I can hit the ground running

If you all miles is 2.50 your loaded miles is much more than 2.50 correct? Or you mean loaded or unloaded your at 2.50 a mile?

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

On all miles above 2.50. About 60% percent of what we do is one way freight out n back same day

I can put you in touch with a company in NJ for flatbed work. Hit me up once you are on the road and i'll see what I can do.

Daycab may limit your opportunities (can't do splits without a sleeper), fyi. I'd take Brett's advice.

Between goulet, srs, Ballard, and a few others, your not making anything up here with a bucket, not to mention you’ll be 99k gross+ through a majority of it

Never buy a daycab, easier to park a sleeper every day then sleep over a steering wheel

    ChevyCam and Manice955 Thank this.

a bucket ? Who said I was coppin a bucket ? Also your first sentence I’m not sure what your talking bout are those companies ? My first truck is gonna be cash paid and somthing I’ll want to drive daily I don’t need to make 800k. A year I want to know if it’s manageable I am taking you guys advice on the sleeper because it legitimately makes sense . Just was a question
