Just thought I'd post this, since I've seen so many people out here that are going through truck training and signing a contract with training companies, then finding out how badly they're treated during a contract.
I got my CDL years ago, but the state of Oklahoma paid for it through their Workforce program. I think they call it something else now. If you are thinking of getting your CDL, instead of contacting Werner or one of the others, call your local employment office. Mine had me take a test, show proof that my income was relatively low at the time, and suggested I be an accountant or something, but when I asked for CDL training they got me into a school and paid for all of it.
I have a niece that recently signed with c r England and she ended up quitting because she could not deal with her co-driver, and England wouldn't do anything about it. Now she's on the hook for the contract, and I'm wishing she would have talked to me first.
