Does anyone else pull these? The company I work for has about 10 new Brenner's and they all have front lift axles. They pull awesome, ride smooth, and look great, but the front axle doesn't always lift. From what I understand it's triggered by the ABS switch, is this correct? When they're pulled with some trucks, they lift automatically once you supply the trailer with air, but on others you have to disable the trailer ABS to get them to lift. My truck doesn't have an ABS switch so it's down all the time. It's not a big deal to me but it does save on tires and reduce drag drastically. Anyone have any insight?

Huh??. We pull Tremcars with lift axles . There's a sensor on the suspension that if there's no weight, the axle will lift automatically or lower if it senses weight. Works about 99% of the time. Otherwise we can turn the air supply handle and it lowers the axle and turns off the sensor.

On some of our trucks it works the same way as yours does, others it won't. When I'm empty and I'm sitting at a red light, the axle will lift when the brakes are applied, once I let off it will drop back down. Im not sure if it's my truck causing the issue or if the trailer is screwed up

With that extra bit you just mentioned about the axle going up when at a stop light Im thinking its your truck thats the issue. Grab a test light and check that you have power at the center pin on your pigtail with the key on. That should be the power wire for the ABS system and Im guessing your trailers are wired for them to take power to lift otherwise they default down so that the trailer cant over load the other axle/axles when its loaded. We have 3 axle polars that are wired the way I mentioned with an auto lift on the rear axle.

I've been them take up to ten minutes to lift up after supplying air to the trailer

My truck does have an ABS fault, it has for some time now. That's probably what the issue is. The ABS light on the trailer lights up and stays lit when the brakes are applied, and the axle only starts to air up when the light is lit. I'll check my truck out tonight

Have pulled quite a few of these and have yet to pull one that doesn't have some type of issue....all ABS related.

I called our shop mechanic and he told me I'd be better off pulling over and taking all 4 wheels/tires off the front axle than relying on the lift axle to actually work

Does this trailer have a control box mounted near the lift axle somewhere......?
