Tankers with lift axles

Does anyone else pull these? The company I work for has about 10 new Brenner's and they all have front lift axles. They pull awesome, ride smooth, and look great, but the front axle doesn't always lift. From what I understand it's triggered by the ABS switch, is this correct? When they're pulled with some trucks, they lift automatically once you supply the trailer with air, but on others you have to disable the trailer ABS to get them to lift. My truck doesn't have an ABS switch so it's down all the time. It's not a big deal to me but it does save on tires and reduce drag drastically. Anyone have any insight?

 

On some of our trucks it works the same way as yours does, others it won't. When I'm empty and I'm sitting at a red light, the axle will lift when the brakes are applied, once I let off it will drop back down. Im not sure if it's my truck causing the issue or if the trailer is screwed up

 

My truck does have an ABS fault, it has for some time now. That's probably what the issue is. The ABS light on the trailer lights up and stays lit when the brakes are applied, and the axle only starts to air up when the light is lit. I'll check my truck out tonight

 

I called our shop mechanic and he told me I'd be better off pulling over and taking all 4 wheels/tires off the front axle than relying on the lift axle to actually work
