I'm in the market for a new job and got a preliminary offer today. The job is driving a lowboy for a tree spading company. In the slow times they are wanting to do some longer hauls and have a broker they are working with in California.
The pay is very good for the tree spading component of the job. They seem to be unsure what to pay for the hauling aspect and say that they are open to reasonable suggestions.
So I come to you all for advise. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
A little help from my friends

I would like to point out that I am in no way asking for rates! I see that is an unsavory question and I understand why. I am asking what a "company" driver should ask for if they are given the chance to drive this set up for someone else and are able to try and negotiate thier wage.
Thanks -
What type of trailer will you be pulling?

No point in risking working for a co. that doesn't know what they're doing. If they don't know how to pay drivers and run their biz, I'd forget about them. Sounds like standard broker bs to an O/O, 'How much You need to run this load'? While they pocket 50% of rate.

If you don't know pay then don't get involved with them If THEY don't know pay.
Do not get involved.Gabe2790 Thanks this. -
Let them get established with whatever they're trying to do first.
Asking you, who in turn, asks the internet. Is not the way to go.
Look elsewhere. -
I am a little confused by the part about me asking the internet. I thought that's why we were here? Or should we only take on jobs where we were born with the knowledge to do?
