let's if I can get all the questions answered ... you do not have to pay your way home between Evos, Roehl will get you on a load that goes by your house. In my case close by my house and my wife drove to pick me up (Roehl did pay for the gas when I submitted the receipts). You will get paid for your orientation during Evo I then (if I remember correctly) there is a week laf in getting your Evo I and II pay. Once your in Evo III, your trips submitted by noon on friday are paid the following wednesday. Roehl does give you the route to drive and where to fuel. The trucks are standard shift. I told Roehl 'no way I'm riding a bus' and they got me a rental car to drive out so I'm not sure about taking the bus. DRG is the driver's resource guide. It is where a driver is to find answers to all questions about poicy and procedures. When you call your fm (fleet manager) with a question the first thing they will ask is if you looked itup in the DRG. I am towards the end (I hope) of Evo III training so I'm not the best resource for questions but I 'll always lend a hand if possible. Welcome to Roehl. Istill believe (in spite of what you my hear) they are on of the better national carriers,

    RockyWI Thanks this.

well it's Friday nite and I'm headed for Ellenwood again my truck engine warning lite came on with 2 fault codes I was supposed to do some short haul deliveries out of Ellenwood this weekend but now I may end up sitting on a good note, I spoke with Roehl's o/o department and was told because of my background and business sense, they will allow me to switch from company driver to o/o when I get out of Evo III that will be a relief to me because I have concern about condition of truck (understand what I have been Thur already) this way I can take responsibility for my truck's maintenance hope y'all have a good holiday I chose to stay out and make some money (or so I thought) lol

well I made it out of Ellenwood in 11 hours with the problem truck brought in for fixed!!!!! truck still has problems but that's already been discussed ..... I left at 5pm with a pickup in Fairburn, Ga bound for Cullman, Al. pick up schedule 9/6 from 0800-2330 and delivery for 1445 .... well I called shipper to verify directions, etc and find out it is a drop and hook and trailer is ready so I can get it any time. I call consignee (WalMart Dist Cntr) and find out it is also a drop and hook and I can come any time .... yeee haaaaa something is finallly going right ..... I've had my 10 hr break waiting for truck so I'm ready to go (I also got preplan for monday pickup in Birmingham) ..... this means after delivery, I beat feet 30 miles down road to Birmingham and get layover ..... so here I sit in Birmoingham (got here at 1 am) .... did have some issues with opti route, but everyone does ..... I hope they get off that BS quickly .... it tried routing me under a low clearance bridge not marked on the atlas (GA92) and routed me up state routes to Cullman instead of up I65 (Walmart is right off of I65) it ended up costing me an extra 45 minutes drive time plus according to Rand Mcnally online, it was 10 miles longer .... lol .... go figure ..... hope y'all have a good holiday whereevr ya are ..... me I'm at Flying J off I65 in Birmingham collecting layover and doing 34 reset (not that I need to but scehdule works out like that) ..... be safe

Can't be as bad as my paycheck i average at $287 a week and thats full time hours to. I'm not going into truck driving to make a fortune. I've always wanted to travel the U.S. and see different things. Truck Driving I will be able to do that and see my family from time to time on the road.

I would look long and hard at the O/O thing. Being self employed for a long time IMO you need to be on the road for 1 year minimum. Also a year from now we will see better where the economy is.

Buringo Bahkco (the president) maybe try passing legislation that is going to hurt the small business man. My O/O friend keeps up to date on pending, and possible legislation.

well I'm home for a few days. Sitting on a load that I'll deliver on friday. I'm gonna stay out around 30 days this next time by choice. I want the days off to help my wife move to Ohio. Her mother is ill and she is moving back to help with her. I figure I'll take my home time there after October. If things go well, in October I'll be doing the o/o thing. So far, all in all, I'm still satisfied with my choice of Roehl. My fm says there are no complaints with me thus far and I seem to have a good handle on doing things. Sure they have some oddities but what company doesn't. Hope y'all are doing well. Keep in touch as to how your doing.
