That's right cuz as we all know there are countless companies out there looking to hire drivers and treat them with respect and dignity! I am just besieged with job offers from good companies right now! yeah, right!

Well there you go. Nothing will ever change in trucking, ever !

You can't point out things without a hundred drivers getting pissed because they lack ambition to get out of the industry.

Ambition? I dont see a lack of ambition as the problem, now about a lack of alternatives??? With unemployment at record highs, many of us would love to get out of trucking, but there is no viable alternatives. Most people's bills dont stop while they go look for a better job, most drivers cant even get enough hometime to even search for, find, interview, and secure a better job. So ambition is not my problem!

Any company that can't recognize an asset is not a company worthy of your time. A company that charges for idling the truck is a company that does not recognize an asset.

Do you LOVE your job ? No ? then get out because it only get's worse.

There are a lot of variables effecting your day. Do you know how to manipulate those variables to your favor ? No ? then get out because it only get's worse.

Think of your truck as a business, your business. Except your not being scammed into buying the fuel out of your meager pathetic earnings of 80 cpm.

I respectfully submit for your consideration the following:
The real reason. Your advice that I quit if I dont love my job. If all of us quit when we didnt like what was going on this country would have never been founded,WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the collapse of the Berlin wall, the fall of Communism, not a one of these victories would have been achieved if alot of people just gave up and went home!
Now I realize that trucking is nowhere as significant as the above, but the truth of the matter is if we give up, we lose! And you are right, it will get worse! So you can give up if you want! while you are at it, go ahead and drop trou, lube up and bend over, not me!

They (mega carriers) have successfully created a new lower lower class. I don't have debt so I excel. 9 out of 10 people do have debt so they are slaves living paycheck to paycheck. It's really a #### shame because there are a few real good people trying to make it driving trucks. When you hear old timers say the professionalism is gone, they are correct. You absolutely get what you pay for. Jb Hunt CL Werner and Mr Schneider are pioneers in business alright.

There are absolutely companies who made a fortune out of exploiting the poor. Trucking companies dont have monopoly on that, hell, the gov't wont be happy till we are ALL dependant on them for our way of life! But what is really a shame is that most truckers have to #### near sell their soul to earn a living in this business! Used to be, hard work and lots of overtime made you a good person, but in trucking, you are a criminal! That ain't right!

Could not agree more. Trucking is all I know. I love every filthy minute of it. I do okay and it's a shame what it has been reduced too. There are still good jobs to had. There really is no way to say this without sounding like a supertrucker but there is too much dead weight driving trucks. Who would subject themselves to a meat grinder company ? Not many people. They are here today and gone tomorrow.

As long as companies bend drivers over, and charge them for crap, I will turn a blind eye to drivers from those companies putting the screws right back to the company.

As far as me paying to wash Mr. Knight's truck.... well, I'll still be ###### if I'm going to do it.

And this is why you and those like you SD will always be steering-wheel-holding truck drivers and never professionals. Because you fail to see that the only way to be a professional is the look AND act like one. Regardless of wither you are being treated like one. Of course the funny thing is. If you look and act like a professional. People have a tendency to treat you like one. Then again you won't even put your age and experience up on your profile so for all we know you are some kid playing around with mom's computer.
