in normal cases mb trough last decades. in recent 2-3 years it dont hold value as before, reasons: unstable market in middle east, lot of trucks on market that came from buyback and some problems with retarder.
in normal cases best value of MB is in years 7-8, it earn a lot till then, value is good and you did not spend too much on repairs. most problematic years are 4-5 because you had some investment at that point, about 3000 €, on nox and temp sensors, dpf, cab suspension bushings etc. in any case you have to sell mb before it get into 10year (so 9years and 10-11 months is ok) after that it loses 30% of value.
at this moment volvo holds very good value as south american market is stable and scania v8 as always.
those trucks are cheap here comparing to west european prices, fleet spec volvo tractor cost here about 78-79000€
