according to Donald Broughton, founder of the analytics firm bearing his name. In 2018, 310 trucking companies with an average fleet size of nine trucks failed, pulling 2,800 trucks off the road. The 795 companies that pulled the plug in the first three quarters of 2019 averaged 30 trucks, with nearly 24,000 trucks pulled off U.S. roadways, Broughton said.

Reports I read is per mile wages gonna drop 25% Or more for company drivers. Welcome back to $.30 a mile folks. Companies are set to tell drivers “take it or leave it”. And I know many of you will say I’ll leave it. But what else are you gonna do? We’re talking about 32% unemployment in three months from now in this country. It’s not like you’re going to find anything else. Not to mention the treatment that we receive will decline even further. We will be treated literally like slaves. And it will be Flontat in our face day today “take it or leave it”

It will be companies that aren’t mortgaged to the hilt and park trucks against the fence that will survive .. The cheap freight low cost guys will fall away as that motto needs miles to stay afloat.

Fuel surcharges are tied in to the price of fuel. Less surcharge when fuel is $2 a gallon than when it is $3 a gallon. Most big companies change their surcharges weekly as the Dept of Energy releases the national Fuel Price Index every Monday.

What you need is some cheap land to build your underground bunker. Your own well for water and lots of sun for solar. You will be safe there, and when it’s all over restart society. Bring your best girl with you.

I just happen to have 40 acres in Arizona. It will fit the bill nicely. Good price. Safe there.

Trucking companies that will fail are those that would have failed even if there was no virus.
Many operate on the financial edge to begin with.

Only if you let that solar powered well runith over. It’s actually nice at the base of the mountains overlooking the valley. Remote. Tough to get a rig out there

I have an ad up for a driver. Just bumped it and both guys who called got laid off over corona slowdown. All the normal folks who are always looking in my area have paused hiring.

We are all gonna feel it.
