Doing some research with the help of this forum. I'm based out of Colorado and my home terminal would be Denver. What companies are there that have in house training and their terminal in Denver

I know W/S, Prime inc. and I think Swift have them their. Any others?

    Thanks

Werner, Voyager Express, Wylie (don't know if they hire much in this area, they do have a drop yard), Navajo.

western distribution is based out of denver. they definitely have the nicest looking company trucks. once you step into one of their kw's or petes, you'll become a snot-nosed adam henry and will come to think you're better than everybody out there who doesn't drive one of those real trucks. :biggrin_2559:

they just don't pay very good though, your a company driver with an O/O spec tractor making near bottom pay. I drive by their yard couple of times per week, some days every truck is parked, other days the yard is empty.

are you sure they aren't parked to show how *AWESOME* their equipment is? wouldn't you loooooove to drive an o/o specked company truck? especially with that neato, awesome, spectacular blue paint job, chrome, and overhead spoilers? that chromed out, well maintained pete or k-dubbya is a difficult thing to turn down, man! :biggrin_25522: forget those miles and pay. that's not what really matters. what matters is that you'll be sitting at a truck stop looking cool. :biggrin_2559:

hey, don't get me wrong, they are some gorgeous looking trucks, with big motors, they now also have 2 Lonestar's in the fleet. One is Western blue with a ####load of chrome, the other is Western blue with a touch of chrome. The latter is a beautiful truck, the other is a bit gaudy. I applied to them right out of school, they told me to come back when I had more exp. Since the new engines will mean different things to CAT, Western is supposedly also planning to exp. with a couple of MACK Pinnacles, some with the Rawhide package, and maybe one with a smartway setup.

There was a big trucking job fair last week, sponsored by APEX, CAST, and a couple of other carriers. Guess they had a pretty big turn out and they never really advertised it.

I also know of Denney and Direct Transport, but both of them require 2 years experience.

my most recent comment was mostly a joke. i hardly ever see their trucks on the road anymore. when i do, it's only one truck for the entire week...wherever i may be at the time being. i saw their drivers all over the place a couple of years ago.

they do have the nicest looking trucks on the road, though, and i'm not even a pete or kw person.

you know, they are hit and miss. there are weeks were I see them out constantly and then weeks were I might only see one or two trucks the entire week. they have been really branching out in the last few years, tanks, end dumps, flatbed, car hauling (enclosed). Since the biggest part of their work is Coors thye run based on what Coors is doing.
