Unbolt shift tower and reset it. It's not in the shift rails. Have someone hold shifter while you guide the base. It takes "feel" to do it by yourself.

Well it's either wrong tower and it came out. Or something came apart on shift rails.

I would remove tower, verify shift rails are in neutral and start it to see it's in neutral. If so reset tower and try again.

Ok so your saying you have eliminated the shift tower then, right. Only other place is top cover then.

    Ed W Thanks this.

When it does not come out of gear, have you removed tower and checked to see were the rails are at? Are the rails in neutral?

I have to wait until tomorrow I think this time they are coming to see it first hand you are saying what I have said from the start and they don't want to admit that they might have been wrong

They're telling me that the stub shaft was not in the rail but can not tell me how I drove it about 97 miles before it locked up
