I have a RTLO16610B (super 10) remained with a new shift tower! shift lever is in neutral but it is in gear will not come out

Unbolt shift tower and reset it. It's not in the shift rails. Have someone hold shifter while you guide the base. It takes "feel" to do it by yourself. -

Well it's either wrong tower and it came out. Or something came apart on shift rails.
I would remove tower, verify shift rails are in neutral and start it to see it's in neutral. If so reset tower and try again. -

Ok so your saying you have eliminated the shift tower then, right. Only other place is top cover then.Ed W Thanks this. -
When it does not come out of gear, have you removed tower and checked to see were the rails are at? Are the rails in neutral?
