The box behind the cb is what sends the virtual tech messages. Removing it will cause problems. Don't know about tracking all the time but when a VT message is sent it gives the location.

Behind where the cb goes there should be a box. It is connected to the ecm so it can send VT messages.

It may just be a tracking box so they can find the truck if you miss a few payments, but I have seen some that wont let you start the truck but they are easy to wire around if you need to? Some of them will make beeping to let you know payment is past due? I cosigned a car for my 2ed ex wife and the thing made a bad sound 1 time when payment was due right after that it was run over by back tires, but when she turned it in to body shop after a (hit a run) that she failed to report to cops, and she may have thought she was going to get a new car, but she was up side down on loan so i had to keep making payments for 8mo. because i was cosigner on loan but i got out of keeping full coverage insur. on her car that was more than her car payment?

Nothing to do with verizon. It communicates with detroit diesel and the ecm. Get hold of detroit and pay the subscription and it will text/e-mail you with all faults. Far more detail than you can get from the display, can even follow up with the closest dealer with needed part.
