I'l sell my 359 pete for $5000 if you come get it while I'm still desperate. it needs a $300 head gasket set put in and a new starter. I've got more then $5000 worth f new part put on in the last 20000mi when I was getting it road ready.

Scud Runner- you better look at that truck and like it! I almost got into trouble over it.:biggrin_25522: I do have a reputation to uphold, you know.

What about the transmission? Are you sure you can qualify Blue as road ready?

after I got home I figured out the oil I was leaking so much of was motor oil coming off the back of the head, running into the tranmission bellhousing and leaking out the clutch inspection cover.

the trans still will need work some time though.

Nothing he gets for $5k is going to be any more road ready

Geez, maybe I should sell mine to him... '94 Pete just needs a tad more work and some drive tires. I think, anyway, lol. Most of the dirty work is done.

I watch the copart sales of trucks once in a while. For newer trucks the prices are ridiculously high because of people buying from overseas, and copart does not even specify the engine, tranny etc. Half the times the trucks wont start because of dead batteries so you dont know the mielage.
Buying from copart is either a win or lose. I bought a nice dry van for low $$ but got ###### over on a reefer.

    Scud Runner Thanks this.

Yeah I noticed that's the place to buy a dry van! Plenty of them on there. And I could see a reefer being a real gamble. (fingers crossed as you click) As far as trucks on Copart, I'm looking at some older pumpkin Century's right now...

for that money you're better of getting into something older with a mechanical engine. THese things get to be electrical nightmares when they get older and you get the ones with computers and they leave you stranded on the side of the road every time some electrical plug decides to get loose or get some corrosion. The mechanicals at least you can get home or to a shop with
