We've got several guys who make good money and depend on every penny. Don't know how they'll survive this.

Fortunately that was me earlier in life as I learned from my mistakes. I lucked out by getting past that period without something bad like this happening. I feel that when the work does come back there will be fewer carhaulers to do it, similar to 2007/2008. Those that can wait it out will be good when work returns, but it could be a very long wait.

My customers are dead and the brokers I haul for have very little to do. I have been cherry picking local loads whenever possible and doing a lot of deadhead. Ive had all my payments deferred for 3 months and am working with the SBA to get one of these forgiveable payroll loans, but this is going to drag on and on. I will weather this no problem but what a kick in the nads.

Been attempting to run maintenance on truck and trailer between rain events. 1 or 2 good days, then more rain. Still working on truck currently. Need to do a rebuild on my fuel pump still too. Then on to the trailer. Lots to do. And I'm tired of the rain. Tired of being at home. Tired of being tired. Mostly tired of not being able to work.

Same here. The wholesale buyers I haul for are chomping at the bite to buy, but for who? No one wants or needs vehicles. Dealers and auctions are all but shut down. What is available to haul is so freakin' cheap it's not even worth putting the key in ignition.

I with you Banker. I think for those of us who can weather this storm there will be very good work on the back side. I can sit for a while, but indefinitely sitting here will be my ruin.

I saw some talk of another cash for clunkers program to promote e.v. sales to bailout automakers but many of those models haven't reached production so i can't se that happening anytime soon. I still say the biggest problem now and into the future is the floor on rates, If the government wants to control so many parts of the trucking industry set minimum rates.

The auctions must be filling up, too. Diamond Express was actually loading inside the auction hauling cars to an outlot when I unloaded @ Denver Monday. They weren't going far, they were doing at least a couple turns per hour.

In 2003 I set for 7 months due to a layoff. I went to the gym twice a day to stay busy and it still felt like Groundhog Day. Can’t go to the gym now but I can take a walk every afternoon. At least here we have some of the best weather of the year currently.

@Banker, I don't remember if you warned about how much fun it was to grease the quiXspinz. Took far longer to do the 10 inboard ratchets than it did to do the other 30! Those inbound ones definitely give you an urge to increase your vocabulary!
