Once pulled a brand new trailer for another company. It had had exactly one load of usage. I hooked it, did my pre-trip, and found one brake inoperable. S-cam was locked out. Took it in, and the shop found the springs were missing. Good QC, Wabash.

Unbelievable... yesterday I asked two of the other Drivers here on the Publix job if they were aware of the water and food available to the Drivers at the K/S/A Yards... neither was told...

Now granted we are at 3-9 Publix every day so if we have a need, we can stop and shop at one of them, but honestly, some of us know and others don’t ... they both wanted the Swift Yard info for us in Florida.

other things have been told to them that I only find out from word of mouth too... but some of that may not be accurate, but one never knows for sure.

    nothing new

If that happened on a public road a driver wouldn’t get canned at my company, nor should he IMHO. I’ve certainly wacked tree branches before, along with just about every other driver here. It happens.

    Lonesome and p608 Thank this.

I don’t think it’s the fact that it happened, but the fact that it wasn’t reported that got him canned.

That’s what I heard. He also had non-reported damage to the truck that matched the damage on the trailer.

Heading back OTR on Tuesday... :D

I guess there is another driver looking to get off OTR for a bit and actually lives in this area, so we are swapping so he can work local and be close to home for a couple weeks... not sure why he didn’t grab this up at the beginning if he lives in this area.

so three more days of city driving and bumping multiple docks per day...

Today was easy money, 3 stops in Ft Myers and all were very open and easy backs... yesterday however was a long ### day ... drive to Jacksonville for 8 stops... two of which I’d prefer not to do again... feast or famine.

hey JB, save a Reno Run for me buddy!!!

When I went through training, Shirley told me "If you damage the truck and tell them, they'll probably give you another chance. If you damage the truck and don't tell them, they know they can't trust you and they'll fire you as soon as they can."

Pretty sound advice, I thought. I have had a few very minor accidents in my time at Abiline, and I have reported every one. Sure enough, they keep handing me more rope.
